It is the oldest, largest continually operating outdoor market in the USA, operates on hundreds of acres, and provides spaces for about 6,000 vendors.

The map shown to the right gives an overall orientation to the First Monday area for new visitors. And we've posted the 2012 schedule of Canton First Monday market dates on this website.

First Monday consists of a number of buildings and areas, including but not limited to the following venues:

  • Original First Monday Park
  • Original Pavilions and Arbors
  • The Village
  • Old Mill Marketplace
  • The Mountain
  • Canton Marketplace
  • Canton Trade Center Pavilion
  • Curry Animal Grounds and McLemee Animal Grounds (Dog Alley)

Access from Dallas or Tyler and Shreveport is via Interstate 20. While several exits are available for Canton, most visitors choose to use Exit 527, which is Texas Highway 19, also known as Trade Days Boulevard.

Welcome to Texas, the Lone Star State, and the site of Canton First Monday Trade DaysLocated between Dallas to the west, and Tyler and Shreveport to the east, Canton is located on Texas Highway 64 and Interstate Highway I-20.

Canton is the county seat of Van Zandt County, and home of the world famous First Monday Trade Days.

Today's permanent population is about 5,000 residents. Five exits from I-20 serve Canton, with Exit 527, TX Highway 19, being the most popular for First Monday visitors and shoppers.
